somatic sex coaching + sexological bodywork
Somatic sex coaching is a tool that supports people to explore sex, sexuality and how to be more present in their body. It is an educational platform for clients to understand, navigate and explore developing better quality experiences in their erotic lives. No two sessions are alike. Why, because this experience is about you.
As you share your story by connecting to your body, together we co-create your learning. This means we work as a team rather than one person being the expert. I, rather work as a support person as you shine a spotlight on what you wish to understand and get to know better. It’s about becoming more mindful about who you are and what you do and how to explore your erotic encounters differently.
Sexological bodyworkers have trained to be somatic sex educators. We don’t fix people; we help them have better sex.
~ Joseph Kramer founder of sexological bodywork
I work with folks one on one, in partnered session or in group workshops. An average session can last 1.5 to 2 hours. Some of the things you can work on in a session are:
Masturbation coaching (otherwise known as erotic embodiment).
Embracing changes in the body (ie erectile changes, post surgery body, age etc).
How to last longer.
Scar tissue remediation (post surgery).
Developing better boundaries.
Helping to know what you want and how to ask for it.
Dating skills
Anatomy and pleasure mapping
Tools to be a better lover
How to have pain free sex
Learn about your sexual style and theme
Sensory play
Breathwork to improve arousal and ejaculation control
Working with shame
To connect better with your partner
And more…
Our profession rests on the value of mindful erotic practice. Erotic practice allows us to know and value ourselves and brings innumerable benefits for the brain and the body. Mindful practice allows us to develop the skills necessary to play and dance with others. Sexological Bodywork = sex education + mindfulness.

No. As a practitioner of sexological bodywork, I am bound by certain protocols. These include:
It is solely for purpose of the clients learning
Each session has a learning objective
There is no sexual relationship between client and practitioner
Practitioner stays fully clothed
Genital touch is one way
If genital touch is negotiated, then gloves must be worn by the practitioner.

It’s a great place to be able to have open and honest conversations about sex and anything in your life that is impacting it. A sex coach provides a non-judgemental space to learn how to do the things you wish to learn better.
And, like going to the gym, you might start with a personal trainer to learn how to use the equipment, how to strengthen your body safely and for moral support to make sure you turn up to do all those exercises . You might see them once or twice or more regularly to support you in your journey to get stronger and more connected to how to use your body in the most effective ways. So, you choose how often depending on what works best in supporting you.
Much like we seek assistance like a personal trainer to help us with our fitness needs or an accountant to help us with out tax, a somatic sex coach is there to assist you in filling in the gaps, changing habits that aren’t working for you and to introduce new ways of interacting with your erotic self whether alone or with others. Essentially, helping to establish a healthier sexual relationship to you, your body and those you wish to interact erotically with.

Each session is unique depending on your individualised learning objection. What often happens in sessions is connection to the body. We do this by connecting to the tools of the body; breath, sound, touch, movement and where you focus your attention.
Sex coaches have a tool kit of exercises to choose from. These are not limited to but can include:
3 minute game (from wheel of consent)
Body scans
Breathwork
Bossy massage
Active receiving
Erotic dance massage
“I want” game
Grounding, centering and creating safety in the body
Movement exercises
Creating rituals for your home practice
Exploring erotic characters
and so forth…
Donald Mosher suggests that we explore sex in 3 different realms; trance state, role enactment and partner-engagement. He considered being able to play in all 3 states was a sign of a sexually healthy individual. The role of a sex educator is to find what a client’s preference is and to educate them about what they are least familiar with…

I approached Nirvana with hesitation after trying to work through early trauma without success. I'd spent my entire adult life living in my own head, disconnected from my own feelings and desires, and that had disastrous impacts on my personal relationships as well as my own happiness. Nirvana has helped me tap into a part of myself I didn't even know existed, as well as break down the barriers I'd put up in connecting and sharing with other people with a gentle and professional approach. Nirvana's techniques challenge my own status quo, but never push me past harmful limits. Every session has brought new discoveries and opened my eyes to new ideas. It's not an exaggeration to say that it has been quite literally life changing. I'm forever grateful for everything I've learned, and have a newly found excitement for the future.
